Local Weather For the next week

Urban Air Park Is Coming To Elk Grove!

The project is still in the site selection phase, but once open it will:

• Create 65 new local jobs

• Offer 20+ attractions including ropes courses, zip lines, laser tag, dodgeball, go-karting, slides, obstacle courses, and more

• Feature a family-friendly café

This new park is part of a larger California expansion. Franchise partners Talwinder Singh and Parampreet Singh Pannu signed a three-unit deal for new parks in Stockton, Elk Grove, and Richmond.

Urban Air already has four California parks (Sacramento-1700 Arden Way, Hanford, Fullerton, and Concord), with more on the way in Murrieta, Hayward, Palmdale, Gilroy, and Huntington Beach.

While the exact Elk Grove location hasn’t been finalized yet, the park will deliver “top-tier service in a safe, affordable environment that caters to all ages,” according to Urban Air spokesperson Destiny Garcia.
Founded in 2011 and now with more than 400 parks open or in development nationwide, Urban Air is part of Unleashed Brands, which also owns The Little Gym, Sylvan Learning, and Snapology.

No official opening date has been released yet — but Elk Grove families can look forward to a new place for fun, fitness, and adventure very soon!

Restaurant of the Week

Pig Latin is one of the few spots that feels like an event, not just a meal. Think tacos, tequila, and a lively patio that actually makes you want to stick around after eating.

Why We love it:

  • Fun, colorful vibe with indoor/outdoor seating and fire pits.

  • Tequila & mezcal selection that goes well beyond your standard margarita.

  • Perfect for groups, date nights, or that “we need a spot with energy” dinner.

  •

What to try:

  • Quesabirria de Res tacos — cheesy, juicy, and definitely napkin-worthy.

  • Elote ribs — a playful twist on street corn that always gets attention at the table.

  • Salsa flight — because why commit to just one when you can sample them all?

The catch:

This isn’t the cheapest taco in town. You’re paying for the experience — the vibe, the cocktails, the setting — as much as the food. Service can sometimes run hot and cold, but most people come for the atmosphere and leave happy.

Details:

9631 E. Stockton Blvd, Elk Grove, CA

Open daily, with late hours on weekends for the night owls.

Every October, Elk Grove Park is transformed into the ultimate autumn celebration, attracting pumpkin enthusiasts from far and wide.

Since 1994, the festival has been a beacon for giant pumpkin growers competing for glory. Over the years, we've seen some incredible pumpkins, like the 2,138-pound record-breaker from 2018. Imagine the size of that pie!

Feel the excitement of carnival rides and captivating entertainment, the joy of unleashing your creativity with delightful crafts, the tantalizing flavors of food trucks, and the thrill of finding the perfect pumpkin to take home. It's all here waiting for you!

And don’t miss the Pumpkin Regatta, where massive pumpkins are turned into canoes for an exciting race across the lake. It’s a unique spectacle that combines bravery and buoyancy in the most whimsical way.

But that’s not all! Whether you’re a budding artist, a whiz with pumpkin recipes, a skilled cupcake baker, or a creator of scarecrows that could come straight out of a fairy tale, your skills are in demand. With cash prizes up for grabs, our contests are your chance to shine!

Mark your calendar, roll up your sleeves, and maybe, just maybe, you'll be the next pumpkin legend. Don't just hear about it—be a part of Elk Grove's most cherished tradition.
